Yaron Shyldkrot
Theatre and Performance Maker.
About
I am a Manchester-based theatre and performance maker (having recently moved up from London). I work as a director, dramaturg, deviser and lighting designer. I work both as a solo artist and collaboratively and I predicated and was involved in numerous shows and projects performing in the UK, Israel, France, Germany, Italy and Croatia.
My work explores the state of uncertainty in performance and creates visceral and physical experiences.
In 2014, I co-founded and I now co-direct Fye and Foul Theatre Company, an emerging theatre company exploring sound, text, darkness and extremes. Fye and Foul's work showed at Barbican Centre, RichMix, Bristol Old Vic, BAC and HAU.
I hold an MA (distinction) in Advanced Theatre Practice from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (2014) and have recently completed a Practice as Research PhD at the University of Surrey (2019), exploring dramaturgies of uncertainty and theatre in the dark. I was a visiting lecturer at the RCSSD and the University of Surrey and I am now a lecturer in Theatre and Performance at the University of Sheffield.
